California’s governor Jerry Brown, passed a fuel tax in 2017 that went into effect Nov. 1. The tax increased current diesel tax by 20 cents per gallon and gasoline tax by 12 cents per gallon. Though revenue from the increase is slated for state and county infrastructure improvements, many Californians still oppose it. One group however, that does not oppose it is the California Trucking Association, citing road improvement is critical to keeping goods moving through California.
